More "Press As The Story"

In an alarming trend, here is one more example of the press becoming the story - rather than report it.

"While the suspect was in the music store, employee Joe Hudson was able to pick up a phone call from The Associated Press and say he and others had been taken hostage.

He said little more but could be heard telling others that he was talking to the AP. "

What the hell is the Associated Press doing calling a music store where a guy is holding hostages?

Report the news, don't become the news.
