Round It Out
Today I am off on a whirlwind, cross country sales tour. I am driving to Columbia (South Carolina - not the country) and from there I am off to Los Angeles, via a stop in Dallas. Tomorrow, I get to make a pitch to a potential client and then I am headed back to Georgia via Phoenix and of all places, Cincinnati, Ohio.
I have been to 47 of the 48 contiguous states, 8 Canadian provinces, 5 Mexican states and 7 European countries - but never Ohio. In all of my travels, I have never had a reason to go there. My cousin teaches at Xavier, but...still not enough reason to get on a plane, drive a car...hike, bike or otherwise to Ohio.
So, I am to round out my tour of the "Lower 48" (which has always confused me, Hawaii is "lower" than all of the other states)...that is, if Delta doesn't go on strike and leave me stranded.
Do you think I will see Bailey Quarters there? 'Cause that IS enough reason!
As I told my brother, "perhaps my destiny awaits in Ohio..." But then I quickly realized that phrase had probably never been uttered before - and should not be now.
