Pink Martini
Diane and I just got back from the Augusta Symphony's POPS! @ The Bell series, featuring Pink Martini.
I have to say that I have not found a more captivating band in recent memory. They range from a fantastic Bolero to a rather odd, but inviting, version of Doris Day's Que Sera, Sera - and just about everything else in between. With the backing of the Augusta Symphony, they pulled the audience in with rousing Cuban rhythms and Eastern European narratives. You have to love their range!
If they come anywhere within shouting distance, go see Pink Martini.
You will not be disappointed.
Now if I could only get Brave Combo to play somewhere near me... I would be in heaven!!!

I've been a Pink Martini fan from the get-go. That "Que Sera" is haunting and weird. You oughta hear their "Brazil," too. But my absolute favorite is their version of "Children of Piraueus" from that movie... Otherworldly.
