Weed Species
There is a cumulative self-hatred that some folks feel about the human race. Yes, we are a weed species, but we are a species - just like all the others. So, if you - like I - buy in to evolution, then why would we consider anything that humans do as "unnatural"? The logical extension of the evolution argument is that we are just like every other species, just a little smarter and with opposable thumbs (a fact which many cats deny).
You can't have it both ways. Either humans are just a species of animal, or we are something divine - created as it says in Genesis - to hold dominion over the plants and animals. You can't just go around claiming that we are mythically potent creatures in some areas when we are on a level playing field with others in the rest. And yet, the same scientists who rally against creationism ascribe powers to mankind that are akin to an Earthbound God.
I am no fan of creationism, and I would bet that these scientists agree with me. Why then can they not get beyond the fact that we are truly just like all the other species that inhabit nature - just a little smarter than the average bear.

So, the same scientists who will tell you this, will also tell you about blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) that ate all of the carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere about 4 billion years ago and filled it with a rather unnatural "oxygen" where none existed before. Hmmm... Are they (the algae) to be reviled as much as humans? It would seem so.Scientists call it rewilding. The idea goes hand in hand with new thinking about the relationship between humans and nature - namely, that even the earliest civilizations had what we might think of as an unnatural impact on the natural world around them.

More like a virus I think - that consumes it's host and then dies off for lack of resources........
