I Should Not Read Things Like This

Today is A.A. Milne's birthday.

Turns out that Milne hated Pooh. I didn't need to know that. Who can hate Pooh?

If something I had created had become a sensation, inspiring millions the world over (as Pooh did while Milne was very much still alive), I would be proud of it - not hold others in contempt because they didn't like the other things I produced quite as much.

Oh well. I think that we an learn a lot from a bear obsessed with honey. If that particular bear feels lessened because his creator never really liked him, he can take solace in the fact that many, many, many millions more people love him than his creator.

I know I do.
