A Rose By Any Other Name

Now get this straight, those folks (Sunni and Shiite) who are trying to kill American soldiers, sailors and marines are "Enemy Combatants" or "insurgents" - they are "bad". The Sunni have been trying to get rid of those pesky Shiites for centuries and now the Americans - who used to think that ALL "insurgents" were "bad" and thus "Enemy Combatants" - think that the Sunni may have a point. The Sunni are now our friends, and thus not "bad". If they were "bad", then they would be terrorists and we could not talk to them(because as I am sure you will remember, we don't negotiate with terrorists - or enemy combatants for that matter). But since they are now "good", we can talk to them.

The problem is that you can no longer call them "indigenous Sunni insurgents" - because then they are "bad". Let's call them Sunni Freedom Fighters!

Remember folks, you heard it here first.
