Julie....one question....why?

Julie over at Not Sedated did a good job of summing up my thoughts on the prostitution of the Baby Jesus....plus, I got a kick out of her review of Road House.

In a past life, I had a girlfriend who loved Road House... she thought it was one of the best movies ever.... she always made me promise that I would watch it with her.... never did... although I was forced to sit through Point Break - which was evidence of Evil Incarnate, right here on this Earth.... The triple whammy of Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves... as surfing, parachuting FBI agents.... AND Gary (no script too cheesy, never say no to ANY part) Busey... Holy Crap Batman... that is so bad, it makes your head hurt just thinking about it.

This also pretty much sums up why she is an EX-girlfriend...

Awww....now I have to eat breakfast thinking about those quality dialogue bits from Pat.... "Little hand says its time to rock n roll!" For the love of God Julie....why did you make me think about this crap!?! You are not allowed to drink and blog ever again... well....at least not when your husband is in bad movie mode...

Personally my favorite example of prostituting Christmas is here. Particularly the points made at the bottom for justification of the practice. My favorite is "How certain are we of how God believes we should act?" he said. "God comes in unexpected ways and continues to do so." Gee... isn't that the whole basis for religion...that we're supposed to act a certain way because the church is sure it's what God believes we should?? Looks like the the commercial whoring for Christmas starts close to the base.
