My Attempts Are Numerous

Scott Adams outlined the formula for making something "funny" in his new blog.

According to Mr. Adams, to be "funny", an item must be:

  1. Cute (as in kids and animals)
  2. Naughty
  3. Bizarre
  4. Clever
  5. Recognizable (You’ve been there)
  6. Cruel

That seems to be it.

Kind of takes the "funny" out of it when you know it is formulaic. Of course, that explains quite a few Dilberts of late...not funny, just formulaic.
